Akita Inu
The Akita Inu is one of the most popular Japanese dogs. Its name comes from the prefecture of Akita in northern Japan. Concerning their personality, this breed has a strong character. In the past, they were used to hunt wild boar, deer, and bear.
It is the largest Japanese dog breed with a sturdy physique. A female Akita Inu can weigh up to 30 kg (66 lbs), while a male can weigh up to twice that amout. The breed’s coat has urajiro, which is white colored markings on different parts of its body such as chest, cheeks, or the inside of the tail. The rest of its coat is usually white with other colors such as sesame, red, fawn, brindle. It’s possible for an Akita Inu to be completely white.
The Akita Inu is full of energy and needs to exercise daily. Regarding their training, you will need to be particularly patient with them. This is because they are quite stubborn dogs. That being said, this dog beed is affectionate with the people he knows. They have a life expectancy of about 10 to 13 years.
