Basset Hound
The Basset Hound has conquered the world with its unique appearance. Its short legs and especially long body have made it a star. The exact origins of this dog remain unclear. It is believed to be the result of several crosses between the Basset d’Artois, the Saint-Hubert, and other basset dog breeds.
In the United States, the breed went from being a hunting dog to a companion dog. It became popular thanks to its unique physique and appeared in many American television series and films, such as The People’s Choice and The Princess and the Frog.
The Basset Hound, gentle and friendly, is nevertheless a hunter at heart. It loves to accompany its masters in the forest, where it will never grow tired. It is a very pleasant dog that is not aggressive at all. It welcomes strangers, whether they are humans, cats, or other dogs.
The Basset Hound likes to move but also loves to lie on the couch. It can enjoy long hours playing with kids, tracking a scent all afternoon, or curling up next to you on the couch. This gentle and affectionate also loves long cuddle times.
