Border Collie
The Border Collie traces its origins back to the middle of the 20th century. It is native to the border region between Scotland and England. Border Collies are working dogs, born and bred to watch over herds. The breed is considered the best sheepdog in Great Britain.
This medium sized dog can measure between 50 and 56 cm (19 and 22 in) at the withers and weigh between 25 and 30 kg (55 and 66 lbs). The coat is medium-long with a double coat.
The Border Collie is a determined, alert and intelligent dog. Neither aggressive nor anxious, he is characterized by his endless energy. For this reason, Border Collies need an active family and will not be happy in an overly urban life. This is because the breed needs to exercise. The Border Collie loves country life as well as sports activities such as agility.
Border Collies are fearless and daring. They are always ready to take on new challenges. This doesn’t stop them from loving being cuddled and surrounded by their family. They are one of the most intelligent dogs and they learn very quickly.
